ne·far·i·ous: \ni-ˈfer-ē-əs\, adj., infamous by way of being extremely wicked.
As soon as the famous Harry Potter was defeated by Voldemort on that fateful spring day, supporters came to the Dark Lord in droves. It appeared that their faith in Potter was merely superficial. Or perhaps they were afraid of the Dark Lord. Nonetheless, no longer were people seen actively showing opposition to the new muggle-hating majority.
Changes were seen almost immediately after the Dark Lord took command of the Ministry. Hogwarts was no longer a home for Muggle born witches and wizards. And even half bloods were barely tolerated. The muggle borns were forced to leave the wizarding world for fear of imprisonment or even death. Some of them lived in with the wizards, though they had to hide their parentage and claimed to be of wizard blood. The Ministry's official reason for the expulsion of the muggle borns were that they 'stole magic' from wizards. They claimed that it was impossible for a muggle to be born with magical ability, and thus they were guilty for possessing the ability. This official statement came with a group of death eaters, sanctioned by the Ministry, who called themselves 'The Cure.' They took it upon themselves of ridding the world of the magic-stealing filth that walked the streets of wizarding England and various other parts.
Obviously the wizarding world was changing to fit the beliefs of the dark lord and his followers. Jobs were taken from half bloods and given to those of pure decent. Many people wished to fight back, but were simply afraid of standing out. A few did, Michael Lightwood, who was a staunch and very vocal supporter for muggleborn wizards was found dead in his home in London, along with his entire family. But as always, there were those brave enough to quietly build up a revolt in opposition against Voldemort and his new Ministry. They called themselves the 'New Order.' Anyone who was found to be in this organization, after it was discovered by the new ministry officials, was sentenced to die as a traitor to the wizarding cause. Both orders grew in support, one in darkness and silence-- for their own safety, and one with ministry support, and support of the masses. Despite personal beliefs, many people adapted their public views to support the cure.
So all of this this begs the question, which side are you on?
