Please note that not everyone can have an ability. We all know that in the movies and books, only certain people had them and it was few and far between. Plus if everyone in the Wizarding world had an ability, that world would not be normal. So when applying for an ability, you must make sure you put the following questions in the history section of your application. Otherwise, you will be denied the ability. 1. Ability applying for?? 2. Who in your family has this ability? 3. If vampire or werewolf, who bit you? When were you bitten and how did you react to it then and now. 4. If you were taught the ability, who taught you? How long did it take for you to get the gist of using this ability. 5. Where there any kinds of problems that you had when you first started and including now. Problems mean like physical or psychological issues. 6. Please provide at least a 2 paragraph RP sample that revolves around your ability so you can show us you will be realistic and reliable with your ability. The abilities we have available are listed below. There is a limit to the number of people who have these abilities. Once the number is complete, that ability will not be available any longer. Ok I do not know if this is a problem but before she was turned into a vampire she was a seer, so this is for both Seer and Vampire.
1. Who in your family has this ability?: It isn't really known who had it first. It is from her fathers side, his great great grand-Aunt and her grandmother were both seers, but his great great grandaunt never married or had children as she died at age 20, it hasnt been seen since then.
2. If vampire or werewolf, who bit you? When were you bitten and how did you react to it then and now: Vampire - Alison doesn't really know who bit her, she was 25 had four children and wanted a break as did her husband, who was turned with her. They were in the words of France, looking around and enjoying the wilderness when someone attacked them, they didn't realise until after they where turned what happened, they still don't know what happened to their creator, it seemed like they just disappeared.
Alice was at first horrified, she thought she would have to be a monster, she would never see her children again. Jasper of course tried to sooth her worry but she was momentarily blind, too the future at least. She felt her blood-lust and had to accept that she was a dark creature now, and that her family and everyone else would probably outcast her and Jasper. In a odd way it was thanks to her blood lust that she found a alternative way to feed. On animals. After so many years she has grown accustomed to it and has re-found her gift, but its a bit more selective then before.
3. If you were taught the ability, who taught you? How long did it take for you to get the gist of using this ability: Though Alice was not taught how to use her ability as a seer, she has grown to depend on them to a extent, the only time she has never been able to see something on command was right after her change, and that made her have a emotional break down.
4. Where there any kinds of problems that you had when you first started and including now. Problems mean like physical or psychological issues:
Alice started having visions when she was almost 3 and this scared her at first then she figured it was normal because her parents, adopted as they were didn't seem to care. She began to have multiple imaginary friends, and tends to talk to herself a lot. As she began to grow she saw peoples deaths a lot, her cousin died when she was 6 and Alice saw her drown before she did, but she never told anyone.
When she was a little older she had a vision of her mother dyeing in plane accident and told her, it scared her parents, and as she had already been to therapy they were probably going to send her to more. The next morning she swallowed a earring to keep her mother from going and while in the hospital her parents heard the news of her mothers plane exploding just as she had said. To her horror when she was 8 or 9 she was sent to a Asylum for a few years, until she was almost 13 when she was taken to hogwarts by Dumbledore.
She still has some problems with the dark and the color white, and closed in spaces because of the Asylum and when she uses her gift it tends to bring back memories of what the Muggles did to her.
5. Please provide at least a 2 paragraph RP sample that revolves around your ability so you can show us you will be realistic and reliable with your ability. :
She ran, she couldn't exactly see where, she was running to fast, but she knew why and what she wanted. She stoped and leaned on the balls of her feet before jumping up into a tree branch and sniffing the air. Rain, Dew, Trees, and....Elk. 'Perfect!' The girl thought as she sprang like a graceful dancer to the neck tree and so on and so forth, all the while she could hear her husband screaming for her from behind. This was a chase and she was going to enjoy it.
"Alice!" She heard faintly but still clear. He was never the fastest, the strongest, but not the fastest. He liked to say it was because she had such a petite body, and was so short. Alice huffed, "I am not short!" She said out loud and to herself. She braced herself on a tree as she realised there was no more to leap to. Though not five feet from her was the heard of elk.
"Oh goody a chase..." She whispered as she saw the Wild cat stalking the heard. 'Good Kitty, good kitty kitty...' She teased in her mind and leaped forward, almost staling in mid air as she plummeted the eight feet to the wild cat, landing on its back. It snarled and she snarled back, letting venom drip from her voice. She laughed as it bucked trying to throw her off. "Sorry kitty..." She said but inside she knew she really was not. She snaped its neck and sunk her teeth into it neck. Wishing she has ripped the fur off first as she felt hair in her mouth. 'Oh...hair ball.' She thought before letting go and getting off. She hadn't realised onto she was on her back on the ground but the heard was dead, and Jasper was on top of her. She smirked, "Hello Lover."

Melissa looked across the hufflepuff table and was making facal expressions. then she looked at the Slytherins and turned her face into a snake lokking thing. all the slytherins was inpressed. "Why dont you teach us how to do that"they all asked. "Because it is genetic" she said as her hair went for blond to fire red and back.
she looked back at the crowd of people standing there and made he face turn to a hawk and let out an evil screech. and she thought maybe that might keep some away

Ok, Melissa. There are a few things wrong with your application here. Let's break it down and then I would like for you to touch up your application again. Once you have gone through and fixed it, I will take another look at it.
1.) The ability of being Metamorphosis (the ability to change hair color and facial features), you can learn that you have it, it is also taught by a parent or a person with the same ability; so you need to explain who helped you with being able to change your hair color and facial features. 2.) You also need to explain how long it took you to learn how to use the ability. 3.) You need to go more in depth on the reason why the ability put you in St. Mungos, what problems it caused. If there were any mental issues that the ability caused your character to have. 4.) Your RP Sample, needs to be longer. One paragraph is about six sentences long each. So for two paragraphs, you need about twelve sentences. 5.) Lastly, please watch your grammar. After writing out your application, use the spell check button. It really does help.
Other than those few things, fix your application and one of us will gladly look over it again.

1. Ability applying for?? Wandless Magic 2. Who in your family has this ability? Her mother 3. If vampire or werewolf, who bit you? When were you bitten and how did you react to it then and now. n/a 4. If you were taught the ability, who taught you? How long did it take for you to get the gist of using this ability. Though she always watched her mother intently whenever she would use wandless magic, her mother insisted she be older and wiser before she would teach her how. Unfortunately, her mother died before this occurred. Her Muggleborn friend, Mychal, however, discovered in their sixth year that he had a natural predilection for it. It was Mychal that began her training in wandless magic, and though their lessons were sporadic due to their work and study commitments, Cindra practiced religiously every moment she found solitude. She recalled watching her mother, and grasped simple spells well, such as lighting a room, closing a book, repairing a broken glass, but more complicated magic was a different story. Grasping spells like summoning, shielding, and disillusionment took her longer to develop and she had just become proficient with them when Mychal died, leaving her to continue on her own. Despite her efforts to finish the training she had started with little more than Mychal’s journals to guide her, she has several limitations. 5. Where there any kinds of problems that you had when you first started and including now. Problems mean like physical or psychological issues. The problems she faced early on were controlling the manifestations of her wandless use of her magic. Cindra would try to light a candle from across a room and melt every candle in the house instead. As she become accustomed to the feeling of it pouring out of her with a wand to focus it, she found her control easier to come by. Now, with having mastered most spells, her mental focus can unfortunately come into play. It isn’t unlikely for her to forget what she can and can’t do without her wand. Old habits die hard, and when she doesn’t openly practice her abilities, it’s easy for her to think of her wand first. Hence, if she’s in an overly emotional state, she might not summon her wand that’s been knocked from her until the recollection hits her. Not a good thing to be honest. Also, she’s still working on more aggressive uses such as curses and counter curses. Mychal had barely touched on it before he died and she’d feel better knowing she could apply her dueling knowledge wandless, if needed, but the amount of mental focus needed is a problem for her, not control. Without Mychal there, she subconsciously doubts her ability to master them, and is unknowingly holding herself back. The good thing is, she has, on occasion, found herself in such a situation where she instinctively cast a curse or counter in defense, her survival instinct overriding her fears and enabling her to cast without doubt clouding her thoughts. 6. RP sample Flashback format- second character
She hadn’t kept track of the time, that much was apparent as Cindra stepped out of the little known bookshop and out into the lamp lit street. Only two days were left before she had to be at Hogwarts and she still needed to return that tome to Stasik. With the copy she had the old wizard in the shop track down for her tucked into her arm, she made her way back to her small apartment.
In a rush to get inside and start copying the notes her older Master had jotted in the margins of his into her own, she decided to cut around the next building and enter through the back. As she turned into the alleyway, she barely made out a shadowy figure at the back entrance to her building, though the nearest light was between them, making it hard to see more than their outline, she did make out the small spark of a wand checking for wards.
She had her wand out and a quick Expelliarmus cast before she had time to think. No sooner than she cast it, they turned, countered, and she felt her wand fly from her hand, landing softly in a pile of rotting newspapers to her right. The wizard, which she was sure of as she had never seen a witch that size, began stepping forward, wand raised. Her heart began racing and her breathing inched towards hyperventilating.
When the smallest movement hinting at a curse was made she held her hand out as if to catch a ball and slammed the wizard back into the metal door, a loud groan coming from him as he slid down. And the groan she recognized.
Cindra took a few steps forward. “Master Stasik?” she asked as she stepped into the outer fringe of the dim light.
“Cindra?” He was getting to his feet with a groan and dusting of his long robes.
Confusion had to have been written on her face. “What are you doing here?” He had been to her apartment before, usually appearing unannounced at her doorstep.
“I came for my Ancient Arithmantic Theories,” he replied, quickly closing the distance between them.
“But why back here?” Though she didn’t put the old wizard past lurking in dark spaces, it wasn’t exactly something the proud man was seen doing.
He scoffed. “And deal with those filthy Muggles that linger in that lobby? I think not.” He eyed her then, a look that made her very uncomfortable. “I thought I disarmed you?” he asked with a cocked eyebrow.
“What?” she stumbled over the word as she lightly took a step back so she could swing her arm back out of the light and summon her wand to her hand. With it firmly in her palm, she lifted it up and said, a little too breathlessly, “I’ve had it the whole time. I can block, as you recall.”

1. Ability applying for? Legilimens/Occlumens
2. Who in your family has this ability? The ability was first taught to my father from his Aunt Bellatrix
3. If vampire or werewolf, who bit you? When were you bitten and how did you react to it then and now. Not Applicable
4. If you were taught the ability, who taught you? How long did it take for you to get the gist of using this ability. My father taught me from a young age because I showed an early aptitude for it. It took me around a year to fully grasp legilimancy, and 2 years to become an adept occlumens.
5. Where there any kinds of problems that you had when you first started and including now. Problems mean like physical or psychological issues. When she was learning legilimancy she saw things in her fathers mind (memories from his school days/Death Eater days) that deeply disturbed her which is why it took her so long to master the art. She is now more discriminitory in choosing the people whose mind she enters and is able to control what memories she looks at with more ease. Other than the time it took her occlumency did not cause her any unusual problems.
6. Please provide at least a 2 paragraph RP sample that revolves around your ability so you can show us you will be realistic and reliable with your ability.
Audrey looked around and finally spotted her brother sitting with a group of his fellow Ravenclaws. She pulled her wand out and pointed it towards him. "Legilimens" she whispered and felt herself pulled into his familiar mind. Her father just wanted her to keep an eye on her non-Slytherin brother. Make sure he wasn't hanging around with the wrong sorts of people. The Malfoy's may have switched to the side of the light, but Draco Malfoy still did not want his son involved with muggleborns. What's this Audrey thought to herself, Scorpius and a Gryffindor. She knew some investigation was in order.
Breaking the connection Audrey was glad that Scorpius didn't really have the mind for Occlumency it would have made it that much harder. Father is teaching him Legilimancy though, she thought to herself, I better be careful. Taking a deep breath she made an attempt to clear her mind, but was interrupted when a passing Hufflepuff's bag his her shoulder. Audrey sighed, I used to be so much better at this, I guess I should practice more. She glared at the Hufflepuff and walked off to investigate Scorpius' Gryffindor friend further.

Post by Pantera Tsua on Jul 14, 2009 16:10:37 GMT -5
1. Ability applying for?? Animagi
2. Who in your family has this ability? His father.
3. If vampire or werewolf, who bit you? When were you bitten and how did you react to it then and now. n/a
4. If you were taught the ability, who taught you? How long did it take for you to get the gist of using this ability? Every Tsua heir is taught this at a young age, though it’s not really easier this way because of the immaturity of the child’s magic, but the Tsua want their children to have it for later life and so certain measures are taken. Pantera learn it from his father and it took him just over a year to get it down perfectly. The only reason it took such a short amount of time was because Pantera’s father was rather strict about its practice, the young male was made to practice avidly and was harshly corrected at any point he messed it up, by his father’s own Animagi form.
5. Where there any kinds of problems that you had when you first started and including now. Problems mean like physical or psychological issues? Pantera experienced the agony of an incorrect Animagi transformation quite a lot as the male learnt it, being twisted in between two completely different shapes and structures. Fortunately the young male always took enough precautions to prevent it from ever being permanent, but there were a lot of close calls with that.
Pantera also finds that whenever he transforms he has an odd preference for his animal form over being human, he finds it very hard to convince himself to change back and spent an unhealthy amount of time as his animal just after he’d perfected the Animagi transformation.
Also, Pantera’s disposition as his Animagi form is altered slightly, the male is a lot less flippant and seems quite menacing in this form, there are also very few people he will recognise and so, his disposition is more often then not, that of a wild animal – only far clever and probably more dangerous. It’s only natural really as the Animagi transformation is not into an animal of choice, it’s to your personalities animal suit and so; a lot of Pantera’s otherwise hidden persona is revealed in this form.
6. Sample; The world was so much better through these eyes; they were always the part to change first, draining of darkness before they were replaced with an eerie ghastly silver. The transformation was swift and sent a shiver down the male’s spine as it came to pass, his spine curved slightly and his limbs shortened to accommodate his bones as they straightened out along his back, his hands and face flushed with darkest short black fur and his nailed lengthened and curved into large dangerous paws. Strong limbs were padded with strong muscles, which twitched as the male tested the transformation as it finished. It all took little more then a couple of seconds and didn’t require a wand, all Pantera had to do was concentrate on that part of him that needed to be released, that part of him he’d found after all his father’s brutal lessons on this particular subject. Pallid scarring tainted the beast’s fantastic muscular body, it was a little too lean for its species, but it was quite a bit larger and the scope of its silver eyes were far more intelligent then that of any simple animal. A short muzzle scrunched slightly, settled upon a sloped handsome face, which was covered with both scars and that short darkest black fur. Pantera, holding true to his name was quite a striking panther, but being an Animagi didn’t mean he had to be any less careful and wounds he received in this form would appear on his human form too and vice-versa; the Animagi wasn’t used for power or anything of the sort, but it did depend on the person as to what you DID use it for. Pantera dipped his large feline head, keeping his eyes forward as his shoulder bones pushed out from his back, showing off the creatures lean figure and dark but smooth gait.
Of course, there would be no talking in this form, but if these hired goons had done their job properly then there wouldn’t be any need. Pantera was there to watch, to make sure everyone did as they’d been instructed and didn’t stick their nose in where it didn’t belong… Leaving them to their own devices was stupid and this way, he could note down who to punish if anything went wrong.
Oh, there were certain… glories in being a silent, predatory shadow and Pantera lorded in it, he enjoyed these moments more then any other and slipped between a throw of greenery, collecting beaded crystalline orbs of dew on his pelt as he pushed through and made his way to the drop off point.
