When a student leaves Hogwarts, they are going to be looking to join the Work Force. There are several jobs that one is able to have in this community. I can list a few for you:
Auror
Healer
Department of Mysteries Worker
Ministry Employee
Dragon Trainer
You are going to need to take classes here at Hogwarts that will help you much later on in life. For example, an Auror would have to take (at the very least) Charms, Transfiguration, Potions and DADA. They would also need to achieve at least OWL standard in all of these and NEWT standard in at least two.
A healer would need to take Charms and Potions and receive OWL and NEWT standard in both of these. A Department of Mysteries Worker would need DADA, Potions and Charms. They would also need to achieve OWL standard in all and NEWT standard in at least two.
A dragon trainer would need to excel at Care of Magical Creatures and DADA as well as receive OWL and NEWT standards in both.
