“All this time I’ve been fighting for England. Do you
think I’m going to let you kill England?”
It’s been four months since the events of the Holy Land. The things that
took place and the journey home affected everyone, but especially
Marian. A quick parry from Robin deflected the blade that would have
pierced her heart, but couldn't stop it from slicing along her jaw and
cheek. Guy and the Sheriff fled the scene, leaving both Marian and the
King for dead - it was only quick thinking from Djaq that saved both
their lives. Marian was scarred but strong, insisting on returning to
Nottingham before she’d had time to heal. Djaq and Will abandoned
their plans to stay in the Holy Land in favour of ensuring Marian’s
safety, as well as Robin’s mental well being.

When Tuck found the gang, they were in all but a state of disaster.
Robin was fiercely protective of Marian, so much so that his own life
was at severe risk, and the rest of his men were at a loss. It took a lot of
persuasion, coercion and more than a little arguing, but eventually, at
Tuck's suggestion, Robin agreed to let Marian hide in Nettlestone,
posing as a peasant, where she could rest and heal properly, and
where she wouldn't be a distraction to him.

Marian had no intention of playing the part of an invalid, though.
Even if she is currently recovering from an grave injury, that hasn’t
stopped her trying to rally supporters to Robin’s cause, and as soon as
she’s well enough, she fully intends to resume her activities as the
Night Watchman.

Meanwhile, in the castle, tensions are almost as high as out of it. Guy is
wracked with guilt over what he believes to have been Marian’s
death, and Sheriff Vaysey is desperately seeking to rid Nottingham of
Robin hood once and for all, before he faces more than a little raise in
taxes.

But things in Nottingham have changed whilst its main players have
been away. Other outlaws have settled in the forest, ones not nearly so
keen to give away their ill-gotten gains. Disputes from other counties
are spilling over onto Nottingham’s soil, and long held grudges are
starting to resurface. Is it true that Isabella of Gisborne has run away
from her husband? And that Prince John intends to march on
Nottingham? Its time to find out who to trust, before we become
nothing more than Dead Men Walking.
